The humiliation Meghan Markle just endured landed like a door slammed in her face, argues Chris Riches.
Meghan Markle shares glimpse into her 2026 Christmas planning
There was absolutely no need to say it about Meghan Markle, unless he felt it simply had to be said – but it was brutal, public and humiliating. And it could be a lesson for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that when you swim with the Hollywood elite, you may not be the biggest creature in the pool.
From 2023, and while living in California and working on her Netflix show ‘With Love, Meghan’, the Duchess of Sussex was represented by talent agency William Morris Endeavour. But last year, there were reports that the influential agency dropped her, with insiders revealing that she was “too demanding” and “difficult to work with.” Now Ari Emanuel – who heads WME Group as executive chairman – has come out and admitted he feels relieved he no longer has “to think” about Meghan anymore.

In a stunning admission to The Sunday Times, Ari was asked about Meghan’s career following WME Group’s decision to part ways with her last year. He said: “Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that anymore.”
Ouch! That’s pretty cold – but it’s also pretty damning and telling. With WME Group, a Page Six source claimed tensions reached a boiling point back in January 2024. Meghan had reportedly had “an outburst,” asked for a meeting, and “expected decks and plans” outlining her future.

The alleged clash with Meghan reportedly triggered a falling-out, eventually becoming a breaking point. “Ari was done with her,” an insider shared, a comment that was confirmed by a second source.
I have written here before about the alarming ‘churn’ of staff, especially in their communications team, of the Sussexes, with over 20 staff leaving since their move to California began. This latest subtle ‘admission’ does nothing to boost her reputation – but lends itself to more suggestions of diva-like behaviour. Maybe the reason for the Sussexes’ return to the UK is starting to make sense.
