GB News’ Patrick Christys issued a furious blow to Andy Burnham as he discussed the “horrific” Channel crossings.

GB News presenter Patrick Christys was furious as he issued a bombshell update on migrant crossings. During his self-titled programme, he claimed: “The small boats crisis has become the big boat crisis. The biggest ever illegal migrant crossed the English Channel, 230 illegal immigrants on one mega dinghy.” As a photo of the concerning packed small boat appeared on screen, the host informed viewers: “A total of 681 illegal migrants came across the Channel this weekend alone.”
“There have been just under 3000 illegals since [Andy] Burnham became Prime Minister, and that’s just the ones we know about.” This marks the first time more than 200 people have been crammed on one boat launched by people smugglers. The number of migrants crammed onto a single dinghy has been increasing in recent months, and after one dinghy carrying 173 people capsized in the Channel after its engine caught fire last week.

Smuggling gangs have now spread out towards Dieppe, France, in a bid to avoid police patrols in Calais and Dunkirk.
During GB News, Patrick continued: “They’re coming to various different military barracks, Crowborough, for example, has a capacity of around 500. So, that’s just over two of these boats, and the site is full, completely full and then where do we put them?
“Today, there were two big news stories of illegal migrant sex offenders, Syrian illegal Mohammed Sheikhi, he came across the Channel by small boat in 2022. He was put up in a migrant hotel in Falkirk, Scotland. Today, he was sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting two women on the same night.”
He added: “Also today, Abdul Khan, an Afghan illegal immigrant who came to Britain in the back of a lorry around 10 years ago and lied about his age but was not deported, was sentenced to nine and a half years in prison.
“He was found guilty on two counts of rape, sexual communication with a child, meeting a child following grooming, sexual activity with a child and perverting the course of justice.”
A Home Office spokesperson said: “This latest incident demonstrates the reckless and dangerous tactics employed by the criminal gangs facilitating these crossings, who continue to put lives at risk by cramming ever greater numbers of people onto unseaworthy vessels.
“We are making progress, with the number of small boat crossings down this year and the lowest number recorded for the month of July since 2020.
“But we must go further, which is why we have signed a payment-by-results deal with the French to put 40% more boots on the ground on French beaches.”
