Prince William recently revealed his favourite place in the UK for a holiday, adding that he thinks that it is “beautiful”. In an interview with Heart FM’s breakfast show, which aired yesterday, William spoke of Isles of Scilly – sharing that he enjoyed holidays there as a child.
Speaking about their family holidays, the 43-year-old described it as a “place like no other. It’s kind of a different world down here, it’s beautiful”. He added: I used to come here a lot when I was younger… The children can go where they want, it’s completely safe. It’s beautiful. The water is crystal clear. There’s so much to do down here for a family. It’s fantastic.”
The comment comes after he paid a visit to Scilly earlier that day to officially open a new hospital facility and to view the construction site of 10 new sustainable homes being delivered by the Duchy of Cornwall.
Whilst on the show, he also spoke to hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden about his wife, children and scones – which is where he revealed how he prefers them.
Adding in a comment about his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, he said: “I love that I’m the authority on the scones. I can only tell you what I learned from my grandmother, and she would definitely, she would have the cream on first.”
Speaking of Kate, he gushed about how “amazing” she is and spoke of her recent visit to Italy, which was her first overseas trip since her cancer diagnosis at the start of 2024.
He revealed Princess Catherine came back ‘buzzing’ from her recent work trip to Italy.

He said: “She’s an amazing mum and an amazing wife, and literally our family couldn’t cope without her so she’s been absolutely stunning.”
Speaking of his children, William revealed that they would likely be heading to school whislt he was on the radio.
He added: “Charlotte and Louis, because George is boarding, Charlotte and Louis if you’re listening, make sure you’re on time please, make sure you’re not fighting over who listens to what, this morning.”
