Prince Harry might be feeling down in the dumps after being booed by fans at a rugby union match on Friday night. The prince was seen in the stands with a beer as Leicester Tigers faced Gloucester at Welford Road.

After arriving back in the UK at the end of August, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have kept their appearances low-key. But after nearly two months, it’s only fair that the couple can start getting back to doing the things they know and love in Harry’s homeland. Afterall, they haven’t come here to be barricaded inside their Cotswolds home.

In their new neighbourhood, locals have largely not bothered the Sussexes and have left them to it as they are used to seeing A-listers walking their streets. Harry is known to be a big rugby fan and whether people like it or not, the duke has been away from his country for years, so it’s hardly a shock to see him enjoying a favourite pastime of his back in Britain.

Having previously served as the patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) – a role now held by Princess Catherine – he has remained a huge supporter of the game. Prince Harry must have been shocked when fans booed him at the rugby match after he was shown on the big screen. The prince is like marmite in the UK these days, love him or loathe him.

There’s certainly a camp of angry people that aren’t keen on the duke after his disloyalty to the monarchy. Even though Harry knows plenty of people aren’t keen on him after everything that has happened over the years – leaving The Firm, making allegations against his family and so on – it will no doubt have sent a shiver down his spine to have to face that in real life.

Prince Harry has spoken about how much he loves the UK, the country he proudly served nearly 10 years in the military for. But right now, he might be feeling like the UK doesn’t love him back.

The Sussexes will have had a lot to weigh up in their decision to move back to Britian. One of Harry’s biggest worries was security for him and his family – which he’s been embroiled in legal battles for. But, the pair must have been worried about how people would react to their return.

Harry received a mixed reception from the crowd – while there were some boos, he has also received support from fans online.

As time goes on and Harry’s appearances become more regular, maybe he’ll be able to muster up a bit more support.

Back in the day, Prince Harry was once one of the favourite members of the Royal Family with the general public knowing and loving him as the “cheeky chap” he was.

But now, the prince doesn’t rank well in public opinion polls at all – with his brother and Princess Catherine taking the top spots.

It looks like Harry and Meghan are set to stay for now, so lets wait and see if the boos continue or if the pair can regain some of their lost popularity.
