Prince Harry is just days away from returning to the UK, with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children also scheduled to travel to Britain. The primary reason for the visit is for the one-year countdown event to the 2027 Invictus Games, which will be held in Birmingham next July.

The Sussex family, who have been offered a royal residence by King Charles to stay in during their visit, are said to be in the UK between July 7 and 11. Although Harry has made several trips to the UK since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, the couple have not visited together since September 2022.

Although Meghan joined Harry at the time of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have not visited the UK since June 2022.

Although Meghan and their children were due to travel, doubt was present last week after it was revealed that the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) had “paused” the independent Risk Management Board (RMB) without explanation.

The Duke of Sussex’s office is said to have been informed previously that this would have been solved back in March.

A spokesperson for Harry has said that he “continues to explore every available option to enable the visit to proceed safely and to give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK”.

Just days before his appearance in the UK, Harry had attended the 2026 Warrior Games in the US.

Taking to Instagram, @warriorcarephotos shared pictures from the event, held last month in San Antonio, with Harry posing with some of the attendees.

After reports that his request for taxpayer-funded security was denied last month, Harry and his family will likely be travelling to the UK with his own security.

One source close to Harry told Page Six that the royal always travels with “one of two of his own security team”. The source also revealed that the Sussexes will not be flying to the UK on a private jet.
