Some households in Jersey may be eligible for a cash boost of more than £500 to help with cost-of-living pressures. The Community Costs Bonus (CCB) is an annual payment to help people living in the British Crown Dependency, located off the coast of Normandy, with cost-of-living pressures.
The support, which is exclusively for eligible residents and had previously been paid in the autumn, had been pushed forward to July for the past couple of years to support families facing cost-of-living pressures “as soon as possible,” the Government of Jersey previously said. The Community Cost Bonus for 2026 is £516.50, with eligibility depending on several factors.

The gov.je website explains that household can claim the bonus if the following three eligibility criteria apply:
- at least one adult member has been resident in Jersey for the last five years
- the household had a combined tax liability of less than £2,735 for 2025
- no member of the household within the previous seven days of application had an open Income Support Claim.
Income Support is an income-related benefit still available in Jersey. In the UK it has been phased out with working age Brits and state pensioners covered by Universal Credit and Pension Credit, respectively.
Residents are told not to apply until they’ve received their latest tax liability.
Claimants confirmed to have met eligibility requirements will be transferred the cash automatically, with people in those circumstances receiving a letter about it.
The 2026-27 scheme is currently active, with annual payment confirmed. Authorities are yet to announce whether it will return for 2027-28.
New applicants were able to apply for this year’s scheme starting July 14, 2026. The current scheme will run until the end of June 2027.
You can apply online if you think you’re eligible. The website asks people to check whether they’ve received a letter about an automatic payment before applying.
An estimated £2.466million was allocated to support the scheme from existing budgets, the island’s government said.
Jersey also has an equivalent of the Winter Fuel Payment for older Britons to support with heating costs.
