GB News presenter Patrick Christys has claimed he was attacked by a group of illegal migrants as he reported on the crisis from northern France. The 34-year-old father of one is filming a special for the news channel and appeared on GB News Breakfast to share his experiences with GB News Breakfast presenters Alex Armstrong and Ellie Costello.
Speaking from a hotel room where he was editing his clip, he said: I think [there] might be footage for you later this evening of us being attacked with bottles, sticks. Even a man who appears to be holding a spear at one point, which was absolutely nuts,” he shared. A clip from his upcoming programme aired, which showed a group of men watching him threateningly as he reported from a wooded area. The men appear to move closer as he says: “The reality is that the illegal migrant camps here are bigger than they’ve ever been… ”

Acknowledging the danger of his reporting, he said: “The last time I was here and reported on human trafficking… my family received death threats.
“We had to leave our home. And the reality is that if you want to come here and report the truth to people, you just have to accept that you are going to be attacked and put in danger.
“That happened countless times here over the course of the last couple of days
“For all the talk that the Labour government says about them sorting out the problem and the boat crossings are down, the reality is that the illegal migrant camps here are bigger than they’ve ever been,” he said.

Sharing more information he had uncovered about the people smuggling operations, he revealed he encountered further danger.
“We were showing the free bus service that you can get all the way from Belgium across northern France. The illegal immigrants here in France are given a bank card by the French or EU taxpayer, but they’re not supposed to be able to withdraw cash from it.
“However, we managed to uncover a shop where they could go in and illegally obtain cash, and that can then be used to obviously pay for people to smuggle them.
“Unbeknownst to us, though, when we went into the shop that was allowing them to illegally get hold of cash, we actually walked into a hornet’s nest of an organised crime group, and they chased us out of Dunkirk,” he revealed.
