During Friday afternoon’s instalment of GB News, the breaking news banner flashed across the bottom of the screen as a Royal Family update was shared with viewers. Royal Correspondent Cameron Walker told host Nana Akua that Thames Valley Police are calling for witnesses regarding possible sexual offences as part of an investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Cameron, who was speaking outside Buckingham Palace, said: “Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor served as UK Trade Envoy between 2001 and 2011. In February this year, he was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. That was following the publication of the so-called Epstein Files released by the Department of Justice. Within those files, a couple of documents appear to suggest that during his time as Trade Envoy, he had passed on state secrets to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.”

Andrew, 66, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has always denied all the allegations made against him. He has made no public statement since his arrest.

Cameron continued: “And yet we have received an update from Thames Valley Police, who released Andrew under investigation in February. The investigation has been continuing ever since.”

Updating GB News viewers further, the royal reporter said the police are appealing for witnesses and are waiting on the Department of Justice to release the unredacted Epstein Files.

He added: “Where does this leave the palace? Well, Buckingham Palace says they cannot comment because they don’t want to prejudice any trial. As I said, Andrew denies all the allegations against him.

“But as I said, it’s a headache in terms of PR for the Royal Family right now.”

Oliver Wright, of Thames Valley Police, said earlier today in a press conference: “The investigation is by necessity hugely thorough and will take time. It’s not going to be a quick investigation by any means.”

GB News airs daily on YouTube, Freeview and Sky.
