The days of Reform polling around 30% seem a long time ago don’t they? If you were in any doubt about that being the party’s peak, that surely is cast aside now.
As questions continue to swirl around his crypto tycoon backers, £5m gift and security arrangements, Farage decided to distract everyone by stepping down as an MP last week.
Well, if he hoped this would result in a surge in support for him and his party, he was mistaken.
Just days after YouGov’s latest poll showed a drop in support for Reform, this has been backed up by new polling from More in Common.
Just like YouGov, the pollster recorded a one point drop in support for Reform. However in contrast to YouGov, More in Common also found a one point rise in support for Labour, perhaps a signifier another potential ‘Burnham bounce’ on the horizon once the Makerfield MP officially becomes prime minister.
This means Reform’s lead at the top is cut to just four points, with Labour and the Tories both tied on 22%.
Another parallel between the YouGov and More in Common polls is an uptick in support for the Greens. More in Common noted a two-point jump for Zack Polanski’s party, putting them on 12%.
