‘Labour is betraying Brexit – these are the key warning signs’ _ Hieuuk

Since Labour came to power, we have heard constant talk of a reset with the EU and ever-closer ties, writes Rupert Lowe.

This comes not even five years since we officially left the EU and for Brexiteers like myself, the alarm bells should be ringing.

Since Brexit, Rachel Reeves will be the first Chancellor to attend the Eurogroup meeting of EU finance ministers.

It’s becoming clearer by the day that this so-called ‘reset’ is a ploy to drag us closer to the EU.

Labour is still filled with Europhiles who would love nothing more than to see us back in the European Union.

Rachel Reeves tells us it’s about improving our growth prospects, yet the European Union is suffering from anaemic growth.

The United States economy is approaching double the size of the Eurozone at $27.4 trillion compared to $15.5 trillion. In 2008, there was almost parity between the two regions.

It’s clear that this shift towards the European Union is nothing more than an ideological ploy to drag us back into the single market and finally back into the EU altogether.

If she were focused on growth, she would do all she could to ensure closer ties to the United States and diverge from harmful EU rules and regulations.

Rachel Reeves needs to respect the British people’s decision in 2016 and focus on growing the British economy, not dragging us ever closer to the EU.

This is a question of sovereignty and accountability. The British public voted decisively to leave the EU, not to creep back through the backdoor under the guise of economic cooperation.

It’s time for Labour to wake up to the reality that their ideological obsession with Europe risks undermining our national interests.
