A letter sent to Met Police in 2018 warning them that Thomas Markle Snr was a child abuser does exist, according to new reports. Meghan Markle yesterday claimed she cut ties with her father when the letter was passed to her after her wedding to Prince Harry.
The Met Police said today they were unable to confirm whether any letter had ever been shared with her. But in a new report, The Sun has said it has seen the letter. Thomas Markle has denied all of the claims against him.
One source said: “Questions must be asked about whether the Met ever acted on the information in the letter. They promised Meghan they were investigating but nothing seems to have been done at all.”
The letter is now understood to have been shared with the police.
The Met have since said: “We are aware of media reports that officers from the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection Command were involved in the passing on of a letter in 2018. We are undertaking enquiries internally in an effort to confirm this.”

Meghan released a statement earlier today. The 45-year-old said that “troubling and disturbing” allegations had been sent to the Met’s Royalty and Specialist Protection and “subsequently shared with me”.
Mr Markle has denied possessing the images, calling the accusations “sick lies”, in an interview with the Daily Mail.
In her statement, Meghan went onto share about her decision to cut all contact with her father back in 2018.
She wrote: “I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications’ distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them.

“I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families. Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children.”
Meghan has been estranged from her father since 2018 after he was caught staging paparazzi photos in the lead-up to her wedding to Harry.
King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, accompanied Meghan down the aisle as her father did not attend her wedding. Her mother, Doria Ragland, was the only member of her family present.
Metropolitan Police have been approached for comment.
