Prince Harry is apparently in denial. According to a source who talked to the Mail, “there will be no imminent mea culpa” from him after returning to the UK with his wife, Meghan Markle. They added: “Far from it, in fact. He is still in that Oprah mindset.” The person even suggested that the King’s second son still expects an apology from the Royal Family. It has also been reported that the Duke of Sussex is planning to be “more relatable” than other working members of the Royal Family and is preparing to undertake more charity work.

letter outlining Charles’s view that Harry and Meghan should be treated as private citizens is said to have sharpened Harry’s determination to prove himself on his own terms, lining up a busy September schedule of engagements to build on his UK momentum.

A source told Women’s Day that he views their status as an opportunity rather than a limitation.

Harry is said to be taking a “lot less stuffy” approach.

The Sussexes’ trip to Australia earlier this year was denounced as quasi-royal and resembled what Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II had ruled out before she died – being “half-in, half-out” of the Firm.

Could this be a taste of what we see in Blighty in the coming months?

Harry has made it hard for the King to trust him since arriving back last month.

Team Sussex said Harry and Meghan were “surprised” by Charles’s letter.

It was only a reiteration of the monarch’s position and the situation in which the Sussexes find themselves.

It suggests Harry and Meghan are dissatisfied and want more.

Indeed, they have insisted on being viewed as “public figures”.

These are troubling signs and suggest that Harry cannot be trusted to behave.
