GB News presenter Patrick Christys and his cameraman were assaulted by a group of migrants as they reported on the issue from a camp in northern France. The 34-year-old father of one took to X to share the news of the assault after online commentators claimed his report was exaggerated. “Our cameraman was brutally attacked by a load of illegals in full view of left-wing keffiyah-wearing charity workers. We have everything on camera 9-11pm,” he wrote.
The scenes were broadcast on the channel on Monday September 14, and showed Christys and his team being ambushed as they attempted to ask some of the men in the camp. They were forced to flee the scene following the confrontation and his cameraman was subsequently brandishing a bandaged arm. They were at the camp around 1pm local time on Sunday September 13 which he explained was, “the exact time that the charity workers come and help all these illegal immigrants to get some sustenance before they come across the channel.”
In a clip, which was also broadcast on GB News Breakfast on Tuesday September 15 he speaks to camera, pointing out : “There’s plenty of people here.”
He then moves amongst the group, saying hello. “Okay. Lots of people here. Lots and lots and lots of people. You can see huge numbers.
“What I’d like to do is just ask some of these charity workers exactly what they think they’re doing,” he says. “Some people will say that they’re doing good. They’re helping vulnerable people, women and children, etc. Other people, obviously, think they’re aiding and abetting the invasion of Britain.”
He then attempts to ask some of the in questions but is shooed away. Turning his attention to the men in the vicinity, he is met with an even frostier reception as they turn on him and his crew. In harrowing scenes, they were forced to run to their car as the men pursued them.

When they were at safety he showed the damage caused to their vehicles as the migrants turned on them and revealed one of his cameraman was quite seriously injured.
“You can see here some of the damage caused by these illegal immigrants as we’re being turfed out of the camp… [They] kicked the side of the car, kicked the door.
“We’ve got scratches here from bottles, quite a big dent there from bottles and stones that have been thrown at us. And if you look at this here, we weren’t just being stoned; we were being egged as well, and peppering us with eggs.
“In fact, an illegal immigrant opened the rear door here, I was in the passenger seat, leant in, and punched the driver in the back of the head, just right in front of me. He’s all right, thankfully.
“Unfortunately, our cameraman is doing less well, and he’s got cuts, abrasions, lacerations, possible concussion as well. He’s bandaged up quite heavily. So look, we’re just going to take stock here and see where we go from here. I think,” he said.
