The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently returned to the UK to live with their children.
GB News paused their live coverage to provide viewers with an update on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK return. Speaking on The Camilla Tominey Show on Sunday, royal biographer and commentator, Robert Hardman, delivered a crushing blow amid reports the Sussexes have not returned to Britain quietly.
Harry is “just as angry” as when he left Britain six years ago and “expects an apology” from the Royal Family, friends of the Duke reportedly claim. His relationship with the Royal Family hit rock bottom soon after he moved to the US in 2020 following several TV interviews and his bombshell memoir Spare. The duke has since spoken of reconciling with his father, King Charles, with his return raising hopes he would also mend his relationship with his brother Prince William. But the Mail on Sunday claims he is still “spitting blood” at certain members of the Royal Family and “expects an apology”.
“We thought we were going to hear sounds of contrition,” Robert said on GB News. “Or possibly hear nothing at all. The couple would come back silently.”

In a humiliating blow to the royals, he said: “It’s now being briefed that Harry is still cross about all the things he was cross about before. And we’re told he is still expecting some kind of apology for the way the couple were treated.”
The royal commentator suggested these latest claims are coming from sources close to the Sussexes as he added the “same old tunes are being played from their rented home somewhere in the Cotswolds”.
Host Camilla asked: “Do they have any incentive at all – the King, Queen Camilla, William and Kate to apologise?”
Robert replied: “No, I don’t think any apology will be forthcoming. Clearly, by coming back the couple are looking for some sort of reapprochemnt or bridge building exercise, notably with the King. I think that’s less likely to happen with William for various reasons.”
He suggested the royals will not mend their relations if Harry plans to bring up the past.
“That’s not going to happen if Harry starts reopening old wounds,” the royal biographer remarked. “Despite these reports, I think he will be savvy enough to know if he wants to start having regular chats and meetings and see more of his father, the couple have to move on.”
Robert added: “We can’t keep repicking at events from seven years ago.”
The Duke is said to be settling in the UK with his wife and children for an “extended period” of time with reports suggesting they have chosen the Cotswolds as their temporary residence.
Many questions remain unanswered, including whether taxpayers will foot the bill for their security.
