Andy Burnham is replacing Sir Keir Starmer in Downing Street after a turbulent two years in power. Mr Burnham, fresh from winning the Makerfield by-election less than five weeks ago, has vowed to give people “breathing room” against the rising cost of living during his time in Number 10.
The former mayor of Greater Manchester has promised a “reset of priorities” which includes scrapping Sir Keir’s flagship digital ID programme. Mr Burnham will be hoping for better fortunes than in his predecessor who last year polled as the UK’s most unpopular prime minister on record. So what do you think?
