GB News ground to a halt minutes into the late-night news programme as reports surfaced claiming that Sarah Ferguson visited Jeffrey Epstein twice whilst he was serving his prison sentence. On Friday night (June 26), Ben Leo returned to the airwaves to discuss the biggest stories hitting the headlines during his late-night show. But minutes into the programme, the show was interrupted as he issued a breaking news update about the child sex offender.

He revealed that, according to documents in the Epstein files discovered by The Telegraph, the former Duchess of York, who lost her royal title due to her links to the disgraced US financier, was seen asking to meet him at an office he had set up for a bogus firm while he was still imprisoned. These documents reveal that Ms Ferguson met the American paedophile on two occasions at the Palm Beach office of the fake company he invented to secure work release while in jail.

The presenter stated that the meetings took place in April and May 2009, before Epstein was released on house arrest. He had gained access to a work release programme in jail, which allowed him to leave his cell for up to 12 hours a day.

The businessman was convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor and soliciting prostitution in 2008 and served 13 months of his 18-month sentence before being released on July 22, 2009. He then spent a year on probation on house arrest until August 2010.

Mr Leo added that the former royal planned to meet Epstein for a third time at the headquarters of the bogus firm, which was called the Florida Science Foundation, but her travel plans fell through at the last minute. To get a further insight into the explosive update, the broadcaster welcomed journalist Poppy Wood onto the show to get a further understanding about the latest update.

Explaining one of the triggers that prompted the visit from the former royal, she began: “It certainly looked like a difficult time for her; she seemed to be going through some sort of financial struggles. But she was really reaching out to Epstein whilst he was in prison to try and get one of her ventures off the ground.

“Epstein had been in jail for around nine months by this point in April 2009, and she contacted him saying, ‘I happen to be in Palm Beach, I’d love to pop by for a cup of tea’. Actually, Epstein was supposed to be in jail, but he’d been given a very generous plea deal when he was first incarcerated on sex offences.

“So she went along, and we can see that in the Epstein files, and they emailed the next day. Epstein said, ‘You look great’ and she replied saying, ‘It was spectacular to see you, it was a great honour to see you’, that sort of thing. She tried to arrange to go again, she went a second time, it appears from the Epstein files, which happened a month later, just popping by Palm Beach to this office that he got out of jail on a very generous work release programme.”

The reporter revealed that she was seeking guidance from the American financier on a new business called Mother’s Army, which tried to connect women in need. Ms Wood added: “She was scrambling around trying to find high-profile women that might help support this business venture.

“She has always claimed that she never knew about the extent of his abuse, and she certainly wouldn’t have been friends with him if that were the case.” Mr Leo argued: “But he was in prison when she visited!” to which Ms Wood added: “Well, this is the question, isn’t it? But lots of people say they bought Epstein’s lies and that he found a very believable way to dress them up, saying, ‘It wasn’t as serious as it looked. I was duped, and maybe this woman showed a fake ID’.

“But not only visiting someone in jail on child sex offences, but it’s already been reported a couple of months later, when he was released from jail in 2009, he was then put on house arrest at his home around the corner from Palm Beach. She flew to Palm Beach another time with her daughters, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, to go and visit him again. Serious questions probably should have been raised.

A spokesman for Ms Ferguson previously told the BBC: “The Duchess spoke of her regret about her association with Epstein many years ago, and as they have always been, her first thoughts are with his victims. Like many people, she was taken in by his lies.

“As soon as she was aware of the extent of the allegations against him, she not only cut off contact but condemned him publicly, to the extent that he then threatened to sue her for defamation for associating him Witt

The newly disclosed documents have once again drawn public attention to the extensive network of politicians, celebrities, business figures, and members of high society who maintained some form of relationship with Jeffrey Epstein over the years. Although appearing in documents or having contact with Epstein does not, by itself, imply criminal wrongdoing, each new revelation continues to fuel public interest and renewed scrutiny of the people associated with him.

For Sarah Ferguson, the reports are particularly damaging because they concern meetings that allegedly took place while Epstein was already serving a prison sentence for sex-related offenses involving a minor. Critics argue that continuing to meet with him during this period demonstrated poor judgment, regardless of whether she was aware of the full extent of his criminal behavior. Supporters, however, point to her long-standing statement that Epstein misled many influential people and that she severed all ties once she became aware of the seriousness of the allegations against him.

The controversy has also revived broader questions about Epstein’s ability to maintain relationships with prominent individuals despite his criminal conviction. Investigations over the past several years have documented how he continued to cultivate influential contacts, raise money, and conduct business after serving his sentence. Critics have argued that the unusually favorable plea agreement and work-release privileges he received in Florida allowed him to preserve much of his social and financial influence, prompting ongoing debate about whether the justice system treated him differently because of his wealth and connections.

Royal commentators note that the renewed attention is likely to create additional challenges for the British Royal Family, which has spent years attempting to distance itself from the Epstein scandal. Although Sarah Ferguson is no longer a working member of the Royal Family, public interest in her past associations inevitably revives broader discussions about the monarchy’s connections to Epstein, particularly because of the extensive scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew’s friendship with the disgraced financier. Buckingham Palace has generally avoided commenting on matters involving non-working royals, leaving individuals involved to respond through their own representatives.

Legal experts also emphasize that documents contained within the Epstein files should be interpreted carefully. Emails, calendars, visitor logs, and other records may establish that meetings occurred, but they do not necessarily reveal the full context or purpose of those interactions. As a result, each newly released document tends to generate public debate while also raising questions that cannot always be answered conclusively from the available evidence alone.

The publication of additional records demonstrates that the Epstein investigation continues to have significant political and social consequences years after his death in 2019. Journalists, victims’ advocates, and legal analysts continue to examine thousands of pages of documents in an effort to better understand the extent of his network and the influence he exercised over powerful individuals. As more information becomes public, renewed scrutiny of those who associated with Epstein is likely to continue, keeping the scandal in the international spotlight for the foreseeable future.
