Kemi Badenoch has torn into Keir Starmer’s record of supporting open borders and signing letters calling on foreign criminals to remain in Britain.

The furious Tory leader reminded MPs that Sir Keir campaigned against the deportation of dangerous foreign criminals in 2020, demanding that 50 were not flown out of the country.

The now-Prime Minister demanded that “all future charter flights must be suspended”, and called for the convicts to be handed taxpayer-funded mobile phones to help their appeals.

Many of them then went on to commit more violent crimes following the Labour leader’s intervention.

Reminding voters of this record, Ms Badenoch argued that foreign criminals went on to murder because “this man [Keir Starmer] campaigned against deporting criminals.”

She demanded an apology from the Prime Minister for signing said letters.

Sir Keir hit back that the Tories “lost control of the borders” during their time in office, dodging questions about his support for foreign criminals.

He added: “The particular example she puts to me is an example of failure under her government to take the necessary measures to make our country safe”.

Ms Badenoch said his argument was a “ludicrous assertion” and pointed out Sir Keir asked the previous Conservative government to “pause all deportations”.

“He doesn’t want to talk about his past, Mr Speaker, but that letter is just the tip of the iceberg! There is more!

“The PM actually complained that the immigration system was working to deter migrants rather than provide support.

“He said, and I quote, that he was ‘proud to have served as Jeremy’s [Corbyn] shadow immigration minister’, he boasted that he took the last Labour government to court for cutting benefits for asylum seekers.

“He wants to talk about immigration? Let’s talk about his record, we can talk about it all day!”

She demanded to know why he wont follow her example and set a cap on immigration.

The PM once again hit back that the Tories presided over a record number of asylum seekers come to Britain, arguing they set a cap for 14 years and it was never met.

He blasted: “They should apologise for what they’ve done with their open borders policy!”
